The heart of Acentrix Database Marketing is Acentrix.CL, the client. The client allows end users to easily manage all of their projects. Each project can contain several hundred target lists and each target list can be segmented multiple times and at multiple levels.
A target list is composed of one or more filters that limit the selection of customers. Once a target list has been created and assigned filters, the user can submit the target list to the Acentrix Server allowing the user can view the target list results and count. Once satisfied with the results the user can easily export the target list(s).
Projects
Projects allow for the creation and management of target lists within Acentrix.
- Easily share projects with other Acentrix users.
- The history of a project is tracked by Acentrix including the target list count returned after each update.

Target Lists
A target list is comprised of one or several filters. The filters are then used to generate an ad-hoc query against the data mart.
- Up to 250 target lists can be added to a single project.
- Each target list can be segmented into multiple sub lists.
- You can export a target list to a flat file for further processing and analysis.

Filters
Filters are used to simplify the process of defining the criteria of each target list. Commonly used fields within a data mart are typically assigned with an 'auto lookup' attribute. This feature summarizes the unique values of a data mart field providing the user a list of values to select from.

If required the user can also manually add criteria to a filter. There are various criteria conditions available in Acentrix including:
- Include / Exclude
- And / Or
- Equals / Does not equal
- Contains / Does not contain
- Begins with / Ends with
- Like / Not like
- Empty (null) / Not empty (not null)
- Is greater than / Is less than
- Is between / Is not between

Segmentation
Each target list can be segmented into multiple sub lists. Acentrix provides true segmentation by preventing duplicate records (customers) from appearing in each sub list. Under this method the order of the sub lists play a critical role. Once a record has been selected by a target list it will not be selected again even if it meets the criteria of a subsequent sub list.

Results
The results of a target list can be viewed directly within Acentrix. You can drill through the various levels of data as well to help verify that the filters criteria have returned the intended results.

Exporting
Target lists can be exported to a flat file for further processing and analysis. Another key feature that empowers the end user and alleviates IT from running custom data extracts.
